Red carpet treatment in Cannes

The brief for our client Penlaw’s annual event is that it takes place in a different destination every year. With a request for a short flight time and an impressive itinerary for their guests, we landed on Cannes – the glittering gem of the French Riviera. With an enviable location on the coast, surrounded by acclaimed golf courses and lined with restaurants serving authentic cuisine, we knew it would fit the bill for a luxurious experience.

Rolling out the red carpet

Following business class flights from London, the guests were taken straight to Cannes-Mougins golf course for their first round. They arrived to drinks and canapés at the clubhouse, where they were provided with tees and balls for the course, which is nestled at the heart of the Valmasque forest.

Behind the scenes, we transferred their luggage to the splendid Hotel Barriere Le Majestic and collected room keys for a smooth arrival. The first day drew to a close with drinks on a private terrace overlooking the pool and dinner at a nearby restaurant, which was personally selected by the team in advance.

Upping the ante

We went for the wow factor on the second day, with a James Bond-esque boat trip to Monaco, featuring on-board refreshments and entertainment. The guests had the quintessential experience with lunch at the renowned Café de Paris and a whirl at the casino, before a return car transfer to the hotel with a backdrop of spectacular views of the coastline. We delivered one of our signature touches with drinks at a rooftop bar with views of the yachts in Cannes Old Harbour.

We marked the final day with a standout round of golf at one of Europe’s most celebrated courses: Terre Blanche. Blessed with perfect golf weather, the guests played on the club’s championship course, with refreshments delivered to them by buggy throughout the day. A prize-giving ceremony followed, with awards for the winning individuals and team to satisfy this client’s competitive spirit! For the final evening, our expert team organised dinner and drinks that showcased the best of local cuisine.

Surpassing expectations

The highlights of this trip – the boat excursion and golf at Terre Blanche – were next level in terms of look, feel and service to match our client’s request for a sophisticated experience. The walkable nature of Cannes meant that nothing was ever too far away for the guests and we took care of every last detail to ensure the trip ran without a hitch, so the guests could unwind and enrich their business relationships in a relaxed setting.
