Switching roles at Silverstone

This year our long-standing client, Tarmac, invited us to join them in their box at Beckett’s for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

Being a guest made a nice break from organising events. It also gave me the opportunity to get first-hand experience of what can make hospitality at Beckett’s unforgettable; insight we can use to deliver exceptional hospitality when managing Tarmac’s future events at Silverstone. 

Tarmac was appointed to resurface the world-famous track at Silverstone ahead of this season’s big races, the British Grand Prix and GoPro British MotoGP. Between the 10th and 30th of June they laid a bespoke asphalt surface specially designed to withstand the high demands of professional racing events.  

And what a race the Grand Prix produced! 

Hamilton won at a canter, but that was only the tip of the iceberg. The sometimes-brutal battle between Leclerc and Verstappen gave us all an enthralling show with some moves that were beyond belief.

Hamilton’s change of strategy with the intervention of the safety car, and the four-way battle between the two Ferrari and Red Bull cars, gave us some nail-biting twists and turns that made the atmosphere electric.  The race was only topped by the exquisite hospitality and company we shared with Tarmac. 

Before leaving Silverstone, we also witnessed one of the most amazing cricket matches in history with England winning the cricket world cup. What a perfect day!
